The full line: blanco, reposado, añejo and both cristalinos
The brand
Amafer is made in the valley of Amatitán, Jalisco, the land where tequila began. The blue agave is cooked in a stone masonry oven, milled with stainless steel rollers, fermented in stainless steel vats and distilled twice.
Five expressions come out of it: the blanco that goes straight from the still to the bottle, the reposado and the añejo that rest in French oak, and the two cristalinos filtered through activated carbon until they turn clear without losing the wood.
The bottle is the same across all five: heavy glass with broad shoulders, an embossed monogram and a wooden stopper.

How it is made
Nothing in the process is new, nor does it try to be. It is the way tequila has always been made in Amatitán, done carefully.
Blue agave from the valley of Amatitán, the cradle of tequila and part of the designation of origin.
The piñas are cooked in a stone masonry oven, which takes longer and draws the sugar out without scorching it.
Stainless steel roller mill and fermentation in stainless steel vats.
Distilled twice. The reposado and the añejo go into French oak; the cristalinos are filtered through activated carbon.
At the bar
The blanco and the reposado carry the everyday cocktail list. The cristalinos and the añejo hold their own in the glass.
